Laporta is monitoring the signing of a legendary striker to succeed Lewandowski at Barcelona

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has pinpointed the perfect replacement for Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, a player that fans fantasize about. The club is actively looking for a new striker, particularly as Lewandowski ages and nears retirement. The German coach is firm on retaining Lewandowski unless a striker is available who can surpass his performance.

According to a report from Football Spain, citing the Catalan newspaper Sport, Laporta views Erling Haaland as the ideal successor to Lewandowski in the near future. The report states that signing Haaland is a top priority for the club in enhancing their attacking options.

Barcelona will need to consider various factors regarding the value of the deal and the salary for the young star if they move forward with signing him. Laporta sees acquiring Haaland as a strategic move and hopes to finalize it in 2025 or 2026, coinciding with the reopening of the renovated Camp Nou stadium.

Laporta believes that the strong relationship between Barcelona and Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, will positively influence their efforts to secure his signing. The upcoming months will reveal Haaland’s future if he decides to leave Manchester City.
