Espanyol’s 23-year-old goalkeeper, Garcia, was instrumental in the team’s promotion to La Liga, recording three clean sheets during the play-offs. He also earned a gold medal with Spain at the Paris Olympics, although he did not play during the tournament.
At 6ft 3ins tall, Garcia has been likened to Arsenal’s David Raya for his ability to command his area and his quick reflexes when dealing with crosses. His proficiency with the ball enables Espanyol to confidently build from the back.
Espanyol’s sporting director, Garagarza, highlighted Garcia’s character alongside his goalkeeping abilities. “We have a fantastic goalkeeper, but he’s also a wonderful person. His demeanor, composure, and tone make him exceptional. For me, he’s in the top 10,” Garagarza remarked.
