Paul Pogba is reportedly interested in returning to the Premier League, with Arsenal emerging as a potential destination. The former Manchester United midfielder, whose four-year doping ban was reduced to 18 months after an appeal, is expected to resume training in January and be eligible to play again in March.
After rejoining Juventus in the summer of 2022, Pogba’s time at the club has been plagued by injuries and his subsequent suspension, limiting him to just 12 appearances. Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has indicated the club is moving on without Pogba, stating, “The squad is complete,” implying he will need to find a new club to continue his career.
Despite Juventus’s firm stance, Pogba remains dedicated to the club, saying, “I am at Juventus under contract. I will see what they are thinking and the vision. My vision is to show I am a footballer,” and expressing his eagerness to return to the pitch.
In light of this situation, former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has urged the Gunners to consider signing Pogba. He believes the Premier League suits Pogba’s playing style and that Arsenal’s young, dynamic squad would provide a fitting environment. “He has experience; he loves to play with young players around him—that is when he is most efficient,” Sagna noted, referencing Pogba’s success during the 2018 World Cup alongside familiar teammates.
Sagna views this as a chance for Pogba to start anew and regain his form after his time away from the game, suggesting that a move to Arsenal could benefit both the player and the club. As Pogba evaluates his options, the possibility of returning to the Premier League remains enticing, with Arsenal potentially ready to seize this opportunity.
