BREAKING NEWS: live from Anfield, “FATAL” – Daniel Sturridge blast Liverpool superstar after sluggish performance against Brighton. He said, “After watching him yesterday, it’s painfully clear: sell him in January. He’s become a liability, pretending to be a footballer while piling mistake after mistake on the pitch. Every touch, every decision—error after error. The moment he was subbed off, Liverpool came alive and scored twice. He’s bringing nothing but disappointment this season. Enough is enough. It’s time the club finds a real replacement. Daniel Sturridge has had enough~Needs to be sold come January, Pretends to be a footballer.”

Liverpool fans voiced their frustration with Dominik Szoboszlai’s performance on social media after he struggled in their 2-1 Premier League victory over Brighton & Hove Albion. The match took place at Anfield on November 2, just days after Liverpool narrowly won against Brighton 3-2 in the EFL Cup Round of 16.

Brighton dominated much of the first half, taking the lead in the 14th minute with a shot from Ferdi Kadioglu that hit the post and went in. They continued to threaten, with Danny Welbeck and Georginio Rutter both coming close to scoring. Liverpool had difficulty finding their rhythm in the second half but gradually improved. Brighton’s goalkeeper, Bart Verbruggen, made two crucial saves against Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah.

The turning point came in the 69th minute when Cody Gakpo’s cross unexpectedly found its way into the net for the equalizer. Just three minutes later, Salah capitalized on a counter-attack, scoring a powerful shot into the top-left corner to clinch the victory.

Despite the win, Szoboszlai’s performance disappointed fans. In his 66 minutes on the field, he didn’t score or assist, created only one chance, and didn’t register any shots or tackles. Fans expressed their discontent on social media, with some suggesting he hasn’t met expectations this season.

One fan remarked, “I think Szoboszlai should be sold in January. He’s not contributing at all.” Another added, “Szobo just seems to be going through the motions lately.”

Reactions from other fans included:

– “Notice how we scored two goals after Szoboszlai was taken off?”
– “The team played better once Szobo came off,”
– “Without Szobo, we actually look like a proper team.”

Some were more critical: “Honestly, Szoboszlai has been disappointing. I expected much more from him.” Another questioned, “Why is Szoboszlai starting over Jones? He’s been poor in possession this season.”

Liverpool’s comeback highlighted their resilience, with Trent Alexander-Arnold earning the highest match rating of 8.3 according to Footballwave. After a quiet first half, he excelled in the second half, creating two chances, completing eight out of nine dribbles with 89% accuracy, and making two clearances, three recoveries, and winning 12 duels, maintaining his strong defensive performance under manager Arne Slot.

Following losses by Manchester City and Arsenal on Saturday, Liverpool climbed to the top of the Premier League standings with 25 points from 10 matches, holding a two-point lead over City and a seven-point advantage over fourth-placed Arsenal.
