Arsenalâs departing sporting director, Edu, has previously highlighted the clubâs intention to win the Premier League “the right way.”
Edu has been instrumental in Arsenalâs revival, working closely with manager Mikel Arteta to make the team competitive for titles. However, he is now set to depart after talks with the clubâs management.
During his time at the Emirates, Arsenal has finished as runners-up to Manchester City twice. In a pre-season interview, Edu stressed the significance of achieving success ethically.
On the Men in Blazers podcast in August, he remarked, âWe definitely want to win titles and bring trophies to the club, but how we accomplish that is what matters most to me. I aim to compete fairly and win in the best possible way, so that people feel proud of us for winning ethically.
âIâm not comparing ourselves to others; my focus is on our own victories and losses, and how we earn our trophies. Thatâs what makes sense to me. It doesnât matter that we didnât win a trophy last season; ask any Arsenal fan how they feel about us.
âItâs crucial that they take pride in our efforts. In sports, you can win or lose, but the way you approach it is what truly counts.â
