€75 million-rated attacking target would be delighted to join Barcelona

AC Milan forward Rafael Leão has been a long-time target for Barcelona, and recent reports from *SPORT* suggest that the Portuguese winger would be eager to join the Catalan club next season.

Leão has consistently caught the eye at Barça, praised for his speed, skill, and versatility on the left wing. Barcelona view him as a player capable of making a significant impact, and club president Joan Laporta has a particular admiration for him.

Laporta envisions signing a major talent when the renovated Camp Nou is complete, and bringing in Leão could be the bold statement the club is seeking.

Although Leão has been on Barcelona’s radar for a while, he has never been their top priority. However, this could change in the upcoming summer transfer window, especially as the club’s financial situation is expected to improve.

The Portuguese player recently signed an extension with Milan, keeping him at the club until 2028, with a substantial release clause set at €175 million.

While Barcelona would likely not be willing to pay that figure, Milan may be open to negotiations for a fee closer to €80-90 million, a much more feasible amount.

At present, Barcelona lacks the financial resources to meet that price but is optimistic that their financial situation will improve next year, allowing them to make a move for the player.

Leao, for his part, has remained composed amid the speculation and is focused on his role at Milan. However, recent tensions with Milan’s coach, Paulo Fonseca, have sparked rumors that Leao may be considering a new challenge, further fueling Barcelona’s interest.

Additionally, Leao’s agent, Jorge Mendes, plays a key role in the situation. With a strong relationship with Barcelona, Mendes could be instrumental if the club decides to pursue Leao in the summer.
