The news all Liverpool fans feared about Mo Salah has been confirmed

Mo Salah contract update coming out of Sky Sports this afternoon as Saudi threat remains

Liverpool are reportedly eager to extend Mo Salah’s contract at Anfield. However, as we near mid-November, there has been little progress in finalizing discussions about the Egyptian forward’s future. With no significant updates on Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contracts also expire in 2025, this situation is understandably causing concern among fans. Mo Salah and Liverpool remain at odds in their contract negotiations.

According to the latest update from Sky Germany, a significant breakthrough in Mo Salah’s contract negotiations with Liverpool is unlikely in the immediate future. Florian Plettenberg reports on X (formerly Twitter) that the two sides remain “far apart” in their discussions. On top of this, there’s the looming possibility of a major offer from Saudi Arabia, as well as other top European clubs potentially interested in signing the 32-year-old.

Despite these uncertainties, every indication suggests that Salah is keen to stay at Liverpool. He seems to be thriving under new head coach Arne Slot and is in outstanding form, with 20 goal contributions in 17 matches across all competitions. It’s no surprise that his agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has publicly stated that he believes Salah is currently the best player in the world. Given his form, there’s certainly a case to support that claim.

However, Liverpool, guided by the pragmatic leadership of CEO Michael Edwards and sporting director Richard Hughes, is likely focused on whether Salah can maintain this high level of performance over the coming years. From Salah’s perspective, his representatives will likely be seeking a contract that reflects his current value, which includes a weekly salary of £350,000 plus bonuses, as well as a potential extension in the length of his deal.
