Amorim prepared to secure £41.5million signing for Man Utd

Manchester United is entering a new chapter under the leadership of Ruben Amorim, who aims to replicate the success of Sir Alex Ferguson by guiding the club back to Premier League glory.

Amorim, having established himself at Sporting CP, is a natural choice for the Manchester United job. Like Erik ten Hag, who thrived at Ajax, Amorim will need to be at his best to succeed in the Premier League.

The Portuguese coach is expected to implement his preferred 3-4-3 formation, bringing in players who fit his style. One such player he reportedly wants to sign is Fermin Lopez, according to Catalan outlet Nacional. Amorim has allegedly requested that Sir Jim Ratcliffe offer £41.5 million to Barcelona to secure the signing of the 21-year-old, who was named MVP at the Olympic Games and has become a target for Amorim.

Lopez, who rose to prominence under Xavi Hernandez last season, has struggled to secure a regular starting spot under Hansi Flick this year, partly due to a lack of a full pre-season and injury. The report suggests that Lopez is dissatisfied with his limited role this season.

If United were to sign him, Lopez could feature as a wide forward in the front three, with his natural goalscoring ability making him an ideal fit for the position. Additionally, he is known for his pressing ability and skill in regaining possession.

While Lopez has some limitations, his strengths outweigh his weaknesses, and it remains to be seen how this potential transfer will unfold for Manchester United.
