Arsenal Reportedly in Talks to Sign Fabian Ruiz from PSG as Mikel Arteta Eyes Midfield Reinforcement Following Emile Smith Rowe’s Potential Exit, with a Loan-to-Buy Deal Possible

Arsenal are reportedly in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz, according to *Football Transfers* journalist Duncan Castles. The 28-year-old, who played a key role in Spain’s Euro 2024 success with two goals and as many assists, is seen by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta as an ideal addition. Arteta is particularly drawn to Ruiz’s precise passing and his ability to excel in one-on-one situations.

Arsenal are also in negotiations with Fulham over the potential sale of Emile Smith Rowe, and Ruiz could serve as a replacement for the academy graduate. Despite his impressive performances at Euro 2024, Ruiz might be available for a relatively low fee, with *Transfermarkt* valuing him at around £30 million. Reports suggest that Arsenal could initially sign him on loan with an option to buy next summer.

Ruiz’s time at PSG has been somewhat inconsistent since his move from Napoli, where he was considered one of Europe’s top midfield talents. Under Luis Enrique, he has struggled to secure regular playing time, which could make him available for a move. With PSG potentially looking to offload him in order to make room for Benfica’s Joao Neves, Arsenal may be ready to seize the opportunity.

Arteta, familiar with Ruiz from their shared Spanish background, has long admired the midfielder, especially after his standout performances at Euro 2024. Should the deal be completed, Ruiz would have the chance to revitalize his career at Arsenal, as the club aims to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.
