I don’t know why he doesn’t like me, even when I perform more than my other teammates..” Liverpool star has been told that he will leave the club after Arne Slot brutal decision 💔

Liverpool star voices frustration over manager Arne Slot’s decision to let him go despite outperforming teammates.”

Shay Given, the former Premier League goalkeeper and Republic of Ireland legend, has urged Liverpool’s backup goalkeeper, Caoimhin Kelleher, to consider leaving Anfield in search of regular playing time. Given believes the 25-year-old has the potential to become a world-class keeper but is being held back by his limited opportunities behind Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper, Alisson Becker.

In an interview with *The Mirror*, Given praised Kelleher’s skills, highlighting his performance in the 26 games he played last season as proof of his ability to be a starting goalkeeper in the Premier League. “Kelleher has shown he can be a No. 1 at this level,” Given said. However, with Kelleher approaching 26, Given argued that remaining at Liverpool would prevent him from reaching his full potential.

Given also pointed out that Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, has firmly backed Alisson as the club’s undisputed first-choice keeper, a situation that could be discouraging for Kelleher. “Every player wants to feel they have a genuine shot at competing for a starting role. For Caoimhin, though, it’s clear he’ll always be second to Alisson, who is one of the best in the world,” Given explained.

While acknowledging Kelleher’s loyalty to Liverpool, Given emphasized the importance of the goalkeeper prioritizing his career growth at this stage. “He has been a great servant to Liverpool, but he needs regular game time to progress,” Given said. “If that means seeking a move, then so be it. In ten years, he won’t want to regret not taking the opportunity to establish himself as a top-level goalkeeper.”

Since his senior debut in 2019, Kelleher has made 55 appearances for Liverpool, keeping 19 clean sheets. He was notably instrumental in Liverpool’s 2022 League Cup final victory over Chelsea, making key saves and scoring the winning penalty in the shootout. Despite these moments, Kelleher has mainly been confined to a backup role due to Alisson’s dominance.

Interest in Kelleher grew last summer, particularly from Nottingham Forest, but Liverpool rejected any offers. The speculation surrounding his future has intensified, especially after the club’s recent signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is seen as a potential future successor to Alisson. Reports indicate that Kelleher has privately expressed a desire to leave next summer, seeking a move that would allow him to become a regular first-team goalkeeper. Several clubs are reportedly interested in signing him, suggesting Kelleher is ready to take the next step in his career to fulfill his potential.
