The standout star at Paris Saint-Germain demands Luis Enrique to facilitate his departure in order to sign with Barcelona

The ongoing rivalry between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Barcelona over player transfers continues, with the latest focus on a top-tier player aiming to leave PSG and join Barcelona. According to *El Nacional*, Fabian Ruiz has decided to end his time at PSG and pursue a new challenge. The midfielder’s motivation has waned, and his relationship with PSG’s coach, Luis Enrique, has soured due to personal issues that arose during their time with the Spanish national team.

Ruiz no longer believes in PSG’s future, particularly after Kylian MbappĂ©’s departure and the failure to sign a new star player. Additionally, his position in the team has been weakened by the arrival of Joao Neves, who has taken over his role in midfield. Although Ruiz considered leaving last summer, he stayed at PSG but has now decided it’s time to move on. His primary goal is to return to La Liga, where he last played over six years ago.

While both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid had shown interest in Ruiz, Barcelona now appears to be the leading option. Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco are reportedly keen on signing him, following his strong performances at the European Championship, which also caught the attention of Spain’s national coach, Luis de la Fuente.

With potential departures of Frenkie de Jong and Pablo Torre, Barcelona has space in midfield. However, the club is not willing to pay a high price for the 28-year-old. Negotiations with PSG have been challenging, as PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi initially demanded €35 million, which was deemed too high considering Ruiz’s previous clubs (Real Betis, Elche, and Napoli). In response, Ruiz has personally asked PSG to lower their asking price and facilitate his move to Barcelona, aiming for a transfer fee of around €25 million, and hopes PSG will agree to the terms set by Laporta and Deco.
