Better than Arda Guler and backed by Messi: Florentino Perez already working on signing him

Real Madrid is facing difficulties in building attacks following Toni Kroos’s departure. Coach Carlo Ancelotti has experimented with several midfield setups, but the team has not been able to achieve the desired results. The lack of a midfielder with excellent vision and technical ability has revealed a significant gap that the club must address before the 2025 season.

Kroos’s departure has disrupted the team’s tactical balance, and efforts to find an adequate replacement have yet to succeed. This situation has prompted Florentino Pérez to reconsider previous decisions that have impacted the team’s current struggles.

One such decision, according to Spanish newspaper *Marca*, was the sale of Nico Paz, the talented young midfielder who transferred to Italian club Como to seek more playing time. Since joining Serie A, Paz has impressed with his performances, even earning a call-up to the Argentine national team under coach Lionel Scaloni. His talent has drawn praise from none other than Lionel Messi, who called him “fantastic” and lauded his maturity and technical prowess, noting that Paz is “a young man growing quickly with a brilliant future.”

Paz’s development has caught the attention of many, and now Real Madrid is reconsidering the decision to let him go. Last summer, Pérez sold 50% of Paz’s rights to Como for just over €6 million, a modest sum given his recent rise. With Kroos’s absence, a player like Nico Paz could have been an ideal solution for Ancelotti’s midfield, but Real Madrid will likely have to wait until 2025 to explore the possibility of bringing him back.

Pérez is beginning to regret letting Nico Paz leave, as the 20-year-old could have become an important player for the team during this transitional period. While Paz continues to shine in Italy, Real Madrid remains in desperate need of a midfielder who can fill Kroos’s shoes. Pérez will likely need to reevaluate his transfer decisions to strengthen the midfield, with Messi’s endorsement and Paz’s potential making it clear that the young Argentine is a talent that should not have been sold so easily.
