Barcelona is determined to make a strong comeback to the top this season, as the team’s impressive start under Hansi Flick has sparked excitement among Catalan supporters, positioning the club to challenge Europe’s elite teams.
Currently, Barcelona leads the La Liga standings with 33 points after 13 rounds, six points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, although the latter still has one postponed match to play.
In a radio interview with Radio Catalonia, Barcelona legend Lionel Messi praised Hansi Flick’s work, acknowledging the German coach for restoring the club’s strength and allowing them to once again dominate Europe’s top clubs. Messi expressed optimism about the current season and his hope for Barcelona to secure multiple titles by the end of the campaign.
Messi also noted the impressive development of several players under Flick, particularly Rafinha, Inigo Martinez, and Marc Casado.
When asked about which player should leave Barcelona, Messi responded, saying, “In my opinion, the team needs another winger to ease the load on Rafinha and Lamine Yamal. I don’t think Ferran Torres is the right fit for this role, so his departure and the acquisition of a stronger player will be one of the most important decisions for Barcelona’s management in the near future.”
Messi concluded by wishing the team continued strength and success, hoping they will return to the podium by the season’s end.
