Arsenal told to ‘sell Gabriel Jesus in January’ as new stats emerge

Following Gabriel Jesus’ performance in Saturday’s (November 23) 3-0 Premier League victory against Nottingham Forest, Arsenal supporters have rushed to social media to call for the club to sell the striker.

At the Emirates Stadium, the 27-year-old earned just his second Premier League start of the year as Arsenal secured a crucial three points.

Earlier in the season, when Arsenal defeated Preston North End 3-0 in the FA Cup, Gabriel Jesus scored the only goal he has achieved all season. But his performance against Nottingham Forest didn’t do much to persuade manager Mikel Arteta that he should be a regular starter. Jesus only managed one shot during the game, was dispossessed twice, and made no successful dribbles.

Thomas Partey added a second goal shortly after the interval, but Bukayo Saka gave Arsenal the lead in the fifteenth minute. With a third goal to complete the victory, substitute Ethan Nwaneri made sure Arsenal was still in the running for the top three in the league.

Gabriel Jesus is making Arsenal supporters angry. Given that Arsenal has one of the lowest goal totals among the top six clubs, second only to Manchester United, it has become more and more clear that the team lacks a more conventional number nine. On social media site X (previously Twitter), some supporters have shown their frustration by calling for the team to sell the striker and look for a different answer up front.
