Viktor Gyökeres, the Swedish striker, is currently one of the most in-form forwards in world football. He has netted 16 goals in 11 Liga Portugal matches this season, in addition to scoring 5 goals in 4 Champions League appearances.
Gyökeres is valued at €70 million, with Sporting CP likely to ask for an even higher price. However, Barcelona seems to have found a way to lower the cost.
According to Diario SPORT, Barcelona is considering offering Sporting full ownership of Francisco Trincão in exchange for a reduced fee for Gyökeres. Trincão, who played for Barcelona during the 2020/21 season, was later loaned out to Wolverhampton and Sporting.
This summer, Sporting acquired 50% of Trincão’s rights for €7 million, and the winger has become an essential player for the team this season. Given his strong performances and interest from clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich, Trincão’s rights could serve as a valuable bargaining chip for Barcelona in their negotiations for Gyökeres.
