Hansi Flick heaps praise on Barcelona star after win over Brest, Laporta surprises Barca star after his great performance in tonight’s match

Barcelona ended French club Brest’s unbeaten run in the new Champions League with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday evening, handing them their first loss in the fifth round of the group stage at the Olympic Stadium of Luis Companys. As a result, Barcelona moved up to second place with 12 points, while Brest dropped to ninth with 10 points.

According to El Nacional, Barcelona is thrilled with the team’s impressive performance, marking their fourth consecutive win in the Champions League. The report mentions that German coach Hansi Flick was particularly impressed by Barcelona midfielder Pedri’s performance and told him in the locker room, “I can’t find the right words to describe how incredible what you’re doing on the field is.”

Pedri not only earned praise from Flick but also from Brest’s coach, Eric Roy, who acknowledged that Brest struggled in midfield due to Pedri’s excellent passes and movement. Flick also congratulated Marc Casado for his solid defensive display against Brest’s attacks.

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski credited his goal-scoring success this season to the efforts of Pedri and Casado, saying, “Without them, I wouldn’t have scored this many goals.”

In an unexpected move, club president Joan Laporta immediately approached Gerard Martin after the match to praise him for his standout performance, especially following the criticism he faced after the previous draw with Celta Vigo.
