BARCELONA‘He’s not 100%’ – Hansi Flick admits Barcelona working hard to find Frenkie de Jong’s ‘best level’

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has acknowledged that Frenkie de Jong is still far from his peak form after a lengthy absence due to an ankle injury. While de Jong has made nine appearances for the team this season, he has not yet returned to his best.

Flick shared after Barcelona’s Champions League victory over Brest that the club is focused on helping de Jong regain his top form. “De Jong is putting in a lot of effort to return to his best level. He’s not 100% yet, but we are working on it, and he will get there. I’m pleased with how the other midfielders are performing,” he said.

Some sections of Barcelona’s fans booed de Jong when he came on for the final minutes of the Brest match. His future at the club remains uncertain, as reports suggest that a new contract has been offered to him, though he has yet to respond. “We will continue working to get De Jong back to his best physical condition,” Flick added.
