Real Madrid fans have expressed frustration with Ferland Mendy’s performance following their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

Mendy faced harsh criticism from supporters on X, who pointed to his role in the team’s poor display. The 29-year-old French left-back had a tough time defensively, losing three duels, failing to make any clearances, and contributing nothing in terms of creating chances.
A key moment occurred in the 70th minute when Mendy fouled Mohamed Salah inside the penalty area, resulting in a penalty. Although Salah’s attempt hit the post, avoiding a worse outcome for Mendy, it underscored his struggles throughout the match.
Mendy was substituted for Fran Garcia after the penalty, but the change had little impact on the result. Liverpool sealed the victory with goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo.
