Raphinha digs out Barcelona teammates after first home loss – ‘We’re doing lots of things badly’

Barcelona suffered their first loss at Montjuic under manager Hansi Flick on Saturday, falling 2-1 to a determined Las Palmas team. This marks their third consecutive match without a win in La Liga, earning only one point from those games. After the match, Raphinha voiced his frustration in front of the press.

As one of the team’s vice-captains, Raphinha didn’t hold back his emotions after the disappointing defeat. “We need to analyze what we’re doing wrong to win games,” he said. “I believe we’ve lowered our level, and it’s making things tough for us. We need to improve. We’re making too many mistakes, and I’m frustrated. The next game is on Tuesday, and we must turn things around.” He added, “I don’t care about my goal, I care about the win.”

The Brazilian also criticized Las Palmas for their time-wasting tactics but chose to refrain from further comments to avoid potential sanctions.

Barcelona will face RCD Mallorca at Son Moix on Tuesday as La Liga enters a midweek round. By then, their lead over Real Madrid could be reduced to just one point if Madrid beats Getafe at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday. Despite the defeat, Raphinha was unexpectedly named player of the match, though he was part of an overall underwhelming performance by the team.
