Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde issues injury update after being stretchered off against Las Palmas

Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde has assured fans that he is doing fine after being stretchered off during Saturday’s match against Las Palmas.

Balde was forced off in the first half following a tough collision with Sandro Ramirez. The left-back appeared to be in significant pain and seemed to have trouble breathing.

Now, Balde has reassured supporters through social media, confirming that he’s fully recovered.

He wrote on Instagram: “It was just a scare. I’m fine! Thanks to everyone.”

The news comes as a welcome relief after some concerning moments when Balde went down at Montjuïc, and fans will be hopeful that the defender can make his return for Tuesday’s match against Real Mallorca.

Hansi Flick also has Gerard Martin available as a left-back option, although the 22-year-old has struggled to make an impact in the first team this season.

Barcelona will be aiming for both a win and a clean sheet on Tuesday night. Their most recent La Liga victory was against Espanyol in early November, while their last clean sheet in the league came during El Clásico.
