Huge news on Mo Salah’s contract situation at Liverpool are out

Mohamed Salah continues to provide a magical show for Liverpool after being the key player in the Reds’s 2-0 win against Manchester City at Anfield.

The Egyptian played a key role in setting up Cody Gakpo’s opening goal and then converted a penalty to double the advantage, extending the lead to 11 points over Pep Guardiola’s team.

In his eighth season at Liverpool, Mo Salah has netted 11 goals and provided seven assists for the Reds, just one goal behind top scorer Erling Haaland, who has scored only once in his last four league matches against Southampton.

As we know, Mohamed Salah’s contract with Liverpool is set to expire in the summer of 2025, but the club has not yet confirmed whether they intend to offer a renewal to their top scorer.

Salah himself suggested after the 3-0 victory over Manchester United that this could be his final year with the club. He also hinted after the 3-2 win over Southampton that he feels uncertain about his future on Merseyside, leaning more towards leaving than staying.

Following the 2-0 win against Manchester City, Salah told the media that he had a sense it might be his last match against Pep Guardiola’s team and expressed his enjoyment of his time at Liverpool for now.

These remarks caught the attention of former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher, who criticized Salah for focusing on his personal situation while the team is in the midst of a Premier League title battle.

Currently, Salah is the highest-paid player at Liverpool, earning approximately £350,000 a week following his three-year contract. However, as time passes, he could become a free agent in the summer.

Recent reports indicate that Salah’s contract situation is a significant issue for Liverpool’s board, and the club will need to initiate contract discussions in the coming weeks.

Mick Brown, former chief scout of Manchester United, believes Salah doesn’t want to leave the club and would be open to signing a new deal if offered. He suggests that there is currently no official offer on the table, but Liverpool will want to retain their star player for the long term.

Brown further argues that even if Liverpool doesn’t win the league this season, they cannot afford to lose a key player like Salah, who has consistently delivered for the team.
