Laporta is close to signing a world-class striker to replace Barcelona’s star

Reports have revealed that a Barcelona player has influenced the club’s management, led by Joan Laporta, to make signing a new striker a priority in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Barcelona experienced their third loss in the Spanish League this season, falling 2-0 to Las Palmas at Montjuic Stadium in the latest La Liga round. According to the Catalan newspaper Sport, Laporta has decided to focus on bringing in a new striker due to Robert Lewandowski’s declining form.

The newspaper noted that Lewandowski, who will turn 37 next season, is prompting Barcelona to seek alternatives, with players like Haaland, Gjokeres, and Omar Marmoush being considered. It was further suggested that the Egyptian star, whom Barcelona scouts observed playing against Midtjylland, is the most likely option. His value is expected to be lower than that of players like the stars from City and Sporting Lisbon.

Additionally, the report mentioned that Laporta is frustrated with Lewandowski’s recent performances, particularly his failure to convert easy scoring chances, which could jeopardize the team’s season.
