Chelsea are reportedly interested in Paris Saint-Germain defender Willian Pacho as a potential transfer target for 2025, with the 23-year-old potentially available for a relatively low fee.
Under the guidance of Enzo Maresca, Chelsea are currently in third place in the Premier League after 13 games, a strong position given the significant squad overhaul in the summer. The team has been in good form, with Cole Palmer continuing to impress and Nicolas Jackson finding his scoring form again. Additionally, the defense has remained solid, offering stability at the back.
Despite this, Chelsea is still actively seeking reinforcements. It’s been reported that the club is considering a major €150 million investment in Barcelona defenders Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo. Although Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana have formed a reliable defensive partnership, Chelsea is still exploring other options, including Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah and Club Brugge’s Joel Orondez.
Kounde and Araujo have been linked with Chelsea before, with Kounde nearly joining the club in 2022 before his move to Barcelona, and Araujo also coming close to a move to Stamford Bridge earlier this year. However, a new name has emerged: Willian Pacho. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Chelsea are keen on the Ecuadorian defender, despite him being less than six months into a five-year contract with PSG.
The report adds that PSG are not currently considering letting go of a player who has been vital to their system. However, a substantial offer from Chelsea could prompt the French club to reconsider, especially if they feel they can reinvest the funds elsewhere. Meanwhile, Pacho remains focused on his performances and seems unaffected by the speculation.
Pacho joined PSG in the summer for a fee that could rise to €45 million and has made an immediate impact, starting 15 matches in all competitions. His strong performances have caught the attention of Chelsea.
