Fabrizio Romano relays significant Mo Salah update coming outside of Liverpool this morning

According to reports, Mo Salah has already signed a contract extension with Liverpool.

BeINSports analyst Haytham Farouk claims that the Egyptian forward received exactly what he wanted in terms of both the “number” and “period” of the deal.

It remains to be seen if this claim will be confirmed by the club before the January 1 deadline, when overseas clubs are allowed to start negotiating pre-contract agreements.

If the reports prove inaccurate and the Reds still have significant work to do in contract talks, it’s likely that many top clubs, both in Europe and beyond, will express interest in Salah.

However, PSG has not yet initiated discussions with the player.

In an interview relayed by Ben Jacobs on X (formerly Twitter), Fabrizio Romano shared comments made by PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi regarding Liverpool’s star, Mo Salah. The 51-year-old expressed his “big respect” for both the player and the club, while also clarifying that PSG has not yet initiated talks about the possibility of signing Salah from Anfield.

Mo Salah, revered as the “Egyptian King” by fans, is understood to have attracted significant interest from the Middle East in the past. In 2023, Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad saw a ÂŁ150m bid rejected by Liverpool. This is unlikely to be the end of Saudi interest, with recent reports from Ben Jacobs revealing that Al-Hilal is eyeing a move for the 32-year-old next summer, ahead of the Club World Cup.

The question remains: would Salah be tempted by a move to the Middle East? While money often plays a key role in football transfers, it could also be the factor that stalls contract talks with Liverpool’s expiring stars.

However, it’s uncertain whether financial incentives alone would convince Salah to join the Saudi Pro League. At his core, Salah seeks to compete at the highest level, which means playing in the Champions League and likely remaining in one of Europe’s top leagues.

Moreover, the Egyptian has previously admitted that the thought of playing against Liverpool would make him “sad,” so a move to another English club is out of the question.
