Arsenal fans are furious after their team dropped more points in a 1-1 draw against Fulham, and many are calling for a key change from manager Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners fell behind in the first half when Raul Jimenez scored, but they equalized after the break with William Saliba heading in a goal from close range. Arsenal created a consistent threat from set pieces and crosses and thought they had secured a late win through Bukayo Saka. However, a VAR review ruled Saka offside, and Arsenal couldn’t find the winning goal, leaving them unable to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool.
Despite recent victories over West Ham and Manchester United, many Arsenal fans feel Arteta needs to make a crucial personnel change to address their inconsistent form. A large number are calling for Kai Havertz to be dropped, even though the German forward assisted Saliba’s goal.
Havertz’s struggles were highlighted when Fulham fans taunted him with chants of “Chelsea reject” as he was substituted. On social media, one fan criticized both Gabriel Jesus and Havertz, stating: “We need a proper centre forward desperately.” Another wrote: “Please sign another striker, Havertz is not good enough…” A third added: “Every ball into the box, Havertz is nowhere to be seen. It’s so jarring.”
Although Havertz has scored five goals in 14 league appearances this season and Arteta has trusted him as the team’s primary centre forward, not all Arsenal fans share the manager’s belief. In October, Arteta even suggested Havertz could score 20 goals in a season, but many supporters remain unconvinced.
