Press reports have identified the player who will be sidelined by Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo following his return to Barcelona’s first-team roster.
Barcelona secured a thrilling 3-2 victory in their most recent match against Borussia Dortmund, boosting their points to 15 and placing them second in the Champions League standings. According to the Catalan newspaper “El Nacional,” Araujo’s return will require coach Hansi Flick to make a difficult decision regarding the team’s defensive lineup.
The report stated that Flick plans to send young defender Pau Coparsi to the bench once Araujo is back, while continuing to start Inigo Martinez. Although Flick holds Coparsi in high regard, the young defender has been responsible for several costly errors recently.
The newspaper concluded that Coparsi is the first to be affected by Araujo’s return and may not be the only one, as Flick could consider moving Araujo to the right-back position, potentially benching Kounde.
