28-year-old Bundesliga winger with PL experience is ‘on the list’ to replace Salah at Liverpool – Falk

Liverpool fans are likely aware that Mo Salah is approaching the end of his contract, so it’s expected that contingency plans are being made.

While there’s still a good chance that Salah will sign a new deal, other options are being considered.

Christian Falk, writing for CaughtOffside, reports: “Leroy Sane is also on Liverpool’s radar. There has been contact, and the club is keeping him in mind in case Mo Salah does not agree to a new contract.

“I’ve heard Sane is seeking a three-year deal, while Liverpool initially offered him one year. Perhaps now they’ll offer two years… we’ll have to wait and see. If no solution is found, they have a list of potential replacements.

“Omar Marmoush is on the list, but Sane is also a target, as Liverpool is looking for both a talent to develop and an experienced player who could step in to replace Salah if he leaves.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the former Manchester City winger, and his potential arrival could generate excitement among Liverpool supporters.

Leroy Sane would certainly be an intriguing option for the fans.

Whoever takes on the difficult task of replacing our No. 11 will inevitably be measured against his exceptional performance, which so far this season includes 16 goals and 12 assists in 22 games.

In comparison, the German international has recorded just three goals and one assist in 17 games – a significantly lower output.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that the 28-year-old is being considered as a potential replacement for our all-time Premier League top scorer, so it might be worth paying attention to this.

Former Liverpool player Jermaine Pennant has previously endorsed the idea of bringing in the attacker, which could spark excitement if a move materializes.

However, despite this, the Bayern Munich player (or any potential replacement, really) will always be seen as a considerable step down from the generational talent we currently have on the right wing at Anfield.
