Bayer Leverkusen has received a major bid for Florian Wirtz. Real Madrid is already preparing for the upcoming transfer window and has a number of targets, with Wirtz being among the priciest.
Many anticipate that the German forward will depart in the summer, with several clubs expressing interest. Recently, Florentino Pérez was briefed on one of the initial offers for Wirtz: a bid of €70 million plus a player.
According to Fichajes.net, Bayern Munich is making a strong effort to secure Wirtz’s transfer in January. Their first offer is €70 million along with Leroy Sané, who is set to become a free agent next June.
While Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly reluctant to sell Wirtz immediately, Bayern’s offer, along with Sané’s valuation (between €50-60 million), would make the total deal worth over €100 million. This proposal is being seriously considered in Germany.
The decision now lies with Florentino Pérez. Real Madrid understands that Wirtz is inclined toward a move to them, potentially even more so than to Bayern Munich. However, the deal is complicated by its high cost and the need for the coach’s approval.
Wirtz’s move to Real Madrid appears more challenging under Carlo Ancelotti, as there isn’t an immediate place for him in the starting lineup. However, this situation could change if Xabi Alonso, his current coach at Leverkusen, replaces Ancelotti at Madrid, offering Wirtz more opportunities.
At the moment, it seems Bayer Leverkusen will reject Bayern’s offer and seek to negotiate more extensively next summer. This could work in Real Madrid’s favor, as the more time they have, the greater the likelihood that Wirtz will join them at the Santiago Bernabéu. For now, Madrid will need to be patient.
