Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero has made a huge claim about Mohamed Salah’s ongoing contract situation at Liverpool.
Liverpool have made an impressive start to the season, currently sitting at the top of both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League standings.
Star player Mohamed Salah has been instrumental in this success, having scored 16 goals and provided 13 assists in 23 appearances across all competitions so far.
Despite Liverpool’s strong form and Salah’s contributions, there are growing concerns regarding the 32-year-old’s future at the club.
Salah, along with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, is in the final months of his contract and could leave for free next summer if no agreement is reached.
However, former Manchester City and Argentina striker Sergio Aguero has claimed that Salah has already signed a new contract with Liverpool.
According to a report by Four Four Two, Aguero said in an interview with Stake.com: “I’ve read a little about this over the past few hours. From what I understand, Salah has renewed his contract with Liverpool for another two years. I believe this should put all doubts about his future to rest.”
Aguero added, “He remains a key player, and a new contract would be the best news Liverpool could get.”
Earlier this month, Sky Sports reporter Melissa Reddy stated that both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are eager to stay at Liverpool.
She said, “It’s been clear that Salah and Van Dijk really want to stay. They’ve expressed that, and while there’s likely some frustration on their part over the delays in reaching an agreement, the expectation is that both players will stay at the club.”
Liverpool will be back in action on Wednesday night as they continue their defense of the Carabao Cup against Southampton.
