Barcelona fans have been comparing me to Vinícius Jr lately. I like their opinions but they should at least let me focus and rest, I’m so young for that. They shouldn’t overhype me this much because we’re all familiar with this hype

Barcelona’s rising star, Lamine Yamal, has faced a setback in his recovery from an ankle injury. The 17-year-old had recently returned to action after missing nearly three weeks due to an ankle problem sustained during a Champions League game against Red Star Belgrade.

However, his return was brief. In Barcelona’s match against Leganes, Yamal injured the same ankle following a strong tackle in the 16th minute. Despite the setback, he played on until being substituted in the 75th minute.

Barcelona confirmed that Yamal will be out for at least three weeks, effectively ending his year. The club stated that he has a grade 1 ligament injury, unrelated to his previous issue.

Yamal’s absence will be a significant blow for Barcelona, especially during the busy festive season. He will miss the final league match of the year against Atletico Madrid and the Copa del Rey clash with UD Barbastro, with a possibility of missing the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia early next year.

On the bright side, Barcelona only has one more league match in 2023, offering a short break before fixtures resume in January.
