Chelsea has been advised not to re-sign Mohamed Salah if he becomes a free agent at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old forward is nearing the last six months of his contract with Liverpool, and he could leave the club for free once the season ends.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool has recently made a new contract offer to Salah, who originally joined the Premier League with Chelsea in 2014. This follows weeks of speculation after Salah expressed doubts about his future at Anfield, saying he felt “more out than in.”
However, former Chelsea defender William Gallas has cautioned the club against pursuing Salah if he fails to secure a new deal with Liverpool. Speaking to Prime Casino, Gallas stated:
“I believe Chelsea should avoid signing Mohamed Salah as a free agent this summer. His arrival could disrupt the team’s harmony. While he’s been exceptional in the Premier League, bringing him in could unbalance the squad and inadvertently strengthen a rival.”
Salah, who has scored 227 goals for Liverpool since joining in 2017, had a brief and underwhelming spell at Chelsea earlier in his career, making only 19 appearances before being sold to AS Roma in 2016.
