Mo Salah gives three-word response to question about his new Liverpool contract following win over Tottenham

Mo Salah gave a three-word response to question about his contract situation after another record-breaking display for Liverpool.

The Reds extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points with a dominant 6-3 victory over Spurs on Sunday. Salah scored twice and provided two assists, accomplishing a feat no other player in the league has ever achieved.

With his two goals in the second half, along with precise assists for Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz, the Egyptian captain became the first player in Premier League history to reach double digits in both goals and assists before Christmas.

Salah also moved up to fourth place on Liverpool’s all-time scoring list, surpassing the legendary Billy Liddell with 229 goals. He is now 117 goals behind the club’s record scorer, Ian Rush, who netted an impressive 346 goals in 660 appearances for Liverpool—a record that Salah finds astonishing.

“Achieving this at such a big club is amazing, but the most important thing is that we won the game. Having this achievement is great,” Salah told Sky Sports.

“I’m not sure how he managed to score so many goals, to be honest! I think football back then was more like seven-a-side rather than 11-a-side. He’s a true legend of the club, and we have a good relationship. Whenever my career ends, I’ll be happy about it. We’ll see what happens.”

The former Roma winger would need to extend his time at Anfield to have a chance of catching Ian Rush’s goal record. With his contract set to expire in the summer, reporter Patrick Davison asked Salah for any updates on his situation.

However, despite having been open about it earlier in the season, Salah gave a short answer, saying: “No, nothing,” before ending the interview.

What Salah said about his Liverpool future last month:
After a win at Southampton, Salah took a moment to speak with the Liverpool press in the mixed zone, revealing that the club had yet to offer him a new contract.

He explained: “It’s almost December, and I haven’t received any offers to stay at the club, so I’m probably more out than in. I’ve been at the club for many years. There’s no club like this. But in the end, it’s not in my hands. As I said, it’s December, and I haven’t heard anything about my future.”

“I love the fans, and the fans love me. But ultimately, it’s not in my hands or theirs. Let’s wait and see. Of course, it’s disappointing that there has been no offer.”

Liverpool, currently topping both the Premier League and Champions League, will return to action on Boxing Day with a home match against Leicester City.
