Despite his evident talent, he has struggled to make an impact at Madrid and has even been deployed as a centre-back on several occasions this season.
His contract runs until June 2028, and Transfermarkt values him at €100m (£83m). However, it remains uncertain whether Liverpool would be willing to invest such a large sum in a player with potential rather than proven success. In November, Fichajes reported that Liverpool was preparing a £50m bid for Tchouaméni. The midfielder had previously been linked with a move to Anfield before joining Madrid and had expressed his admiration for both Madrid and Liverpool, stating he enjoyed watching games from both leagues.
“I like both [Real] Madrid and Liverpool; I can watch Spanish games and English games,” he told CNN in 2022. “It’s different to play in Spain, and it’s different to play in England, but at the end, for me, it’s just a matter of adaptation.” He also mentioned his ambition, adding, “I’m an ambitious person.”
