Ancelotti told Endrick to sit down after telling him he will play against Sevilla – striker has not played 90 minutes in La Liga this season

Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to have Endrick sit back down after being told to prepare to enter the game against Sevilla highlights the challenges the young Brazilian faces in securing regular playing time at Real Madrid. Despite being a highly touted prospect, Endrick has struggled to make a significant impact in La Liga, having played just 82 minutes across 18 matches without starting any of them. His total playing time across all competitions is limited to 159 minutes in 15 appearances, with two goals and one assist to his name.

This decision to withhold his participation in such a crucial moment, after Sevilla’s second goal, indicates Ancelotti’s preference for more experienced players in key situations, possibly aiming to avoid further risks. However, it is expected that Endrick will gradually receive more opportunities in 2025, particularly in less pressured competitions like the Copa del Rey.

His lack of significant minutes so far may be due to the highly competitive nature of Real Madrid’s squad, where many positions are filled by world-class players. Yet, as he continues to develop, there may be more chances for him to prove himself on the pitch in the coming year.
