Newcastle have named their price for talisman Alexander Isak and it’s stunned fans of both Arsenal and Liverpool.
Arsenal, still feeling the need for a top striker, have long been interested in Sweden international Alexander Isak, while Liverpool are also reportedly considering him if they fail to reach a new deal with star player Mohamed Salah. Paris Saint-Germain has also recently shown interest, with Barcelona and Real Madrid in La Liga not ruled out as potential contenders.
However, a new report from The Telegraph suggests that clubs might be priced out of a move for Isak. Journalist Luke Edwards reveals that Newcastle is demanding an eye-watering £150 million for their prized forward, the same figure they quoted to Chelsea in the summer to block a potential transfer.
Newcastle believes this price reflects the value of one of Europe’s most in-form strikers, who has netted 42 goals in 68 Premier League matches. Isak still has over three years left on his contract with the club, and Newcastle plans to negotiate a contract extension soon.
Having joined for a club-record £63 million from Real Sociedad in 2022, Newcastle now values Isak at more than double that amount. Their asking price exceeds the Premier League transfer record set when Enzo Fernandez moved from Benfica to Chelsea for £106 million in 2023.
Newcastle United has set a hefty asking price for Alexander Isak, leaving both Arsenal and Liverpool fans in shock. The Swedish striker has long been a target for Arsenal, who are seeking a top forward, while Liverpool is also reportedly considering him if they fail to extend Mo Salah’s contract.
Paris Saint-Germain, along with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, have also shown interest in Isak. However, a recent report from The Telegraph reveals that clubs could be priced out of a move. Newcastle is demanding a staggering £150 million for their star forward, the same amount they quoted Chelsea in the summer to block a deal.
The Magpies believe this price is justified given Isak’s impressive form, with 42 goals in 68 Premier League appearances. With over three years left on his contract, Newcastle is also planning to discuss an extension with him soon. Having joined for a club-record £63 million from Real Sociedad in 2022, Newcastle now values him at more than double that amount, a figure that exceeds the Premier League record set by Enzo Fernandez’s £106 million move to Chelsea in 2023.
Despite the high asking price, Newcastle is confident in keeping Isak, with sources saying the club is “relaxed” and not interested in selling. Manager Eddie Howe also remains focused on further developing the striker’s game. Isak has scored 11 goals in his last 12 appearances, and Howe believes there’s room for him to improve even further, emphasizing that his job is to help Isak evolve and continue to push his performance.
