The feeling around Liverpool…” – Journalist delivers positive LFC update

It appears that the prevailing sentiment at Liverpool is that both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are likely to sign new contracts at Anfield.

With Salah, Van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold all approaching free agency next summer, Liverpool is running out of time to secure their futures and avoid a potential crisis with this crucial trio.

Losing all three players at once, particularly on free transfers, would be a significant blow for the club. However, fans may have reason to feel optimistic about Salah and Van Dijk’s future at Liverpool, according to David Ornstein.

In a recent update, Ornstein shared with NBC Sports that it seems likely Liverpool will retain Salah and Van Dijk, although there is less confidence regarding Alexander-Arnold’s future.

“We know that offers have been made to all three players,” Ornstein stated.

“The general feeling at Liverpool is that Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk will eventually sign new deals. The indication I’m getting is that both will likely sign two-year contracts.”

It seems there’s finally some positive news for Liverpool…

While losing Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid would be a significant setback, retaining Van Dijk and Salah would certainly soften the blow for Liverpool.

Fans will still hope for a positive resolution regarding Alexander-Arnold, but keeping two out of three of these key players could still be considered a success.

Salah, in particular, is crucial for the team, as he appears to be in the form of his life, playing an unstoppable role in Arne Slot’s attacking setup this season.

The Egypt international shows no signs of slowing down with age, and it’s likely he could maintain a high level of performance for at least another three or four years.
