Mohamed Salah issues fresh statement on Liverpool contract talks as his agent arrives in Merseyside today.

Despite difficult circumstances, Mohamed Salah is committed to staying at Liverpool. His agent, Ramy Abbas, is reportedly in Merseyside this weekend and is expected to attend the match against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.

In November, after Liverpool’s 3-2 victory over Southampton, Salah voiced his frustration over not being offered a new contract. Ahead of the match with Ruben Amorim’s team, Salah told Sky Sports that negotiations for an extension are still far from an agreement.

“Do I think this is my last season? So far, yes. It’s the last six months,” Salah said. “There’s no progress, and we’re still far apart. I’m focused on having an exceptional season instead of worrying about the contract. I don’t want to look back and feel distracted; I want to be proud of what I achieved.”

Salah also expressed his desire to leave a lasting legacy at Liverpool, stating: “People will always compare me to legends like Gerrard and Dalglish, but just being part of that conversation is an honor. Eight years ago, I never imagined this, but now I’m proud of what I’ve done.”

When discussing his goals, Salah shared that winning the Premier League with Liverpool is his main focus, even more so than the Champions League.

“Maybe because we didn’t properly celebrate our Premier League win last time, or maybe because this is my last year here, I’m more motivated than ever to win the league and leave something special for the city.”

Salah stressed his dedication to continual improvement: “During breaks, I reflect on what I need to improve—my fitness, composure, or shooting. I stay focused on the details to ensure I contribute significantly to our success.”

Acknowledging the challenges ahead, including competition from Arsenal, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, and Manchester City, Salah remains hopeful: “Winning the Premier League again would be incredible. My goal is to play a key role in achieving that and making a real difference. We’ve won nearly everything, but securing the league a second time would be extraordinary.”
