Rodrigo Bentancur posts health update after the Tottenham midfielder was rushed to hospital following worrying injury and on-pitch treatment for NINE minutes in 1-0 win over Liverpool

Just five minutes into the first half of the Carabao Cup semi-final, Bentancur attempted a header at the near post from a Tottenham corner but seemed to land awkwardly, remaining motionless on the field.

Immediate concern arose for the 27-year-old as his teammates urgently signaled for medical help to come onto the pitch.

The medical team acted quickly, and the crowd watched nervously as Bentancur received treatment for nine minutes before being carried off on a stretcher, with applause from both sets of supporters.

Tottenham later confirmed that the Uruguayan had been taken to the hospital for further scans. In the early hours of Thursday morning, Bentancur reassured his fans about his condition via social media.

He posted a photo of himself smiling with his long-time partner, Melany La Banca, alongside the message: “All good, guys! Thank you for the messages!!! Congratulations on the win, boys!!!”

Bentancur has shared a health update from his hospital bed, smiling alongside his long-time partner, Melany La Banca, and assuring everyone that he is “all good.” His positive news will be a relief to fans after he underwent extensive treatment.

This update comes after his first game back following a one-match suspension in Tottenham’s weekend loss to Newcastle, which was due to accumulating five yellow cards this season.

Before that, he had served a seven-game suspension for allegedly using a racial slur against Tottenham captain Son Heung-min during a TV interview in Uruguay.

While it’s still uncertain when he will recover from his latest setback, seeing him sitting up and smiling offers comfort to his supporters.

Meanwhile, Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah required medical attention after feeling unwell during the first half of Wednesday’s match, resulting in 11 minutes of stoppage time.

The second half became more intense in the final 15 minutes, with Spurs narrowly taking the lead for the return leg at Anfield next month.

Tottenham’s initial goal was ruled offside after Dominic Solanke thought he had scored for the hosts.
