Manchester City is set to bolster their squad with three new signings, all of which are reportedly nearing completion. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the club has already arranged medicals, contract signings, and other formalities.
First, City is on the verge of securing 20-year-old Uzbek international Khojiakbar Alijonov for €40 million, with additional potential add-ons. The club has also reached an agreement in principle with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush, who has netted 14 goals in 16 Bundesliga appearances, with an official offer expected soon.
Furthermore, City has struck a deal with Palmeiras centre-back Vitor Reis, with negotiations for the transfer fee between the two clubs still ongoing.
Despite these signings, City’s main priority remains strengthening their midfield following Rodri’s knee injury, which has ruled him out for the rest of the season. They have identified Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni as a key target.
According to Football Insider, City has allocated funds to pursue the 24-year-old French international, who is also capable of playing as a centre-back. While Tchouameni has made over 100 appearances for Real Madrid, he isn’t always a regular starter in midfield. The opportunity to secure a guaranteed starting role at City is said to be appealing, and both City and Liverpool are eager to tempt him away from Madrid. A summer move is considered more likely, but both English clubs are confident they can convince him to make the switch.
Given Tchouameni’s age, experience, and his £85 million transfer fee when he joined Madrid from Monaco, City may need to offer a similar sum. However, they appear ready to make a significant investment to secure the player.
