Nicolas Jackson has made a mark not only with a brilliant assist for Cole Palmer’s opening goal against Bournemouth but also with what can be considered the biggest miss of the match.
The Chelsea striker sent the ball over the bar from just six yards out following a cutback from Noni Madueke.
However, a close-up video reveals that Madueke’s pass caused the ball to bounce unexpectedly, making it more difficult for Jackson, who essentially ended up volleying it.
While this doesn’t fully justify the miss, it does help explain it to some extent.
Jackson deserves just as much recognition as Cole Palmer for Chelsea’s opener against Bournemouth.
