The renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who specializes in transfer news, has revealed the final decision of Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo regarding his future at the club.
Araujo had been linked with a potential departure from Barcelona this month, with strong interest from Juventus. Initially, it seemed that Araujo was leaning towards leaving the club, but the situation has since changed.
Romano explained that Barcelona is now confident that Araujo will remain at the club and will not leave in January. A new round of talks took place between Araujo’s representatives and Barcelona’s Deco on Tuesday, and the player himself gave the green light to stay, despite Juventus’ attempts.
Araujo’s recent performances, including a strong showing as a substitute in the Super Clásico against Real Madrid and a brilliant display against Real Betis in the Copa del Rey, have been key to his decision. German coach Hansi Flick is reportedly considering making Araujo a regular starter in the team, even when Inigo Martinez returns from injury.
