Rasmus Højlund was visibly frustrated after Alejandro Garnacho missed an easy chance against Southampton in Manchester United’s Premier League match.
In the 20th minute, Højlund broke into the box and passed the ball to Garnacho, but the winger mishit his shot wide. Højlund reacted angrily, kicking the post in frustration, and his outburst was caught on camera.
The miss appeared even more costly when Southampton took the lead shortly after, but Amad Diallo’s late hat-trick saved United from embarrassment.
Garnacho, who was given his 11th Premier League start of the season at Old Trafford, continues to attract transfer interest. Napoli is reportedly keen on signing the Argentine winger and has been monitoring his situation closely.
According to The Mirror, United rejected a £40 million bid from Napoli for Garnacho. The Serie A leaders are preparing for a potential sale of Khvicha Kvaratskelia to PSG for £70 million and are considering Garnacho as a replacement. United is reportedly holding out for £60 million for the winger, who came through their youth system and has scored 23 goals in 116 appearances since his debut in 2022.
Despite transfer rumors, Garnacho remains at Old Trafford for now. He has had a strained relationship with manager Ruben Amorim, having been dropped from the squad for the Manchester derby in December, although he played the full 90 minutes against Southampton.
