Liverpool playmaker and winger Mohamed Salah is poised to become one of the most controversial figures, as he prepares to finalize a stunning transfer to a European powerhouse!

The Saudi football project has made notable strides in attracting major players, including former Real Madrid stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Now, the Saudi Pro League reportedly has its sights set on Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, with the Egyptian forward yet to sign a new deal at Anfield, making a potential move increasingly likely. However, the focus on Salah isn’t as intense as Real Madrid’s pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Despite this, Liverpool fans will hope the club makes significant progress on contract renewals as the 2024/25 season unfolds. Saudi Arabia remains determined to secure Salah’s signature, with Al-Hilal especially keen to sign him ahead of the Club World Cup, and Turki Alalshikh even posting an image of Salah in their jersey. Still, Liverpool is hopeful of keeping their record-breaking goalscorer beyond 2025, with Salah himself expressing his commitment to staying at Anfield.

Salah undoubtedly deserves a contract extension with Liverpool, given his impressive form this season, contributing 38 goals in 29 games across all competitions. If these numbers don’t demonstrate his ability to maintain a high level of performance, nothing will. However, Liverpool faces the challenge of managing several key contract negotiations, including that of captain Virgil van Dijk, and allowing all three deals to run into their final years has understandably frustrated fans.

New sporting director Richard Hughes is under significant pressure in his debut season, trying to balance the club’s wage structure with the expectations of a global fanbase. Some understanding is warranted as he navigates these challenges.
