Barcelona’s poor form in La Liga continues, with the Catalan club set to fall 7 points behind the leaders if Real Madrid defeats Las Palmas in their upcoming match.
In a statement released on Sunday evening, Barcelona confirmed that Dani Olmo suffered a muscle injury and calf fatigue after coming on as a substitute in Saturday’s match against Getafe. The club did not specify how long he will be sidelined, only stating that his return will depend on the speed of his recovery.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Olmo will miss Barcelona’s upcoming Champions League match against Benfica in Portugal. However, he could be available for the next La Liga match against Valencia at the Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys next Sunday. If his recovery takes longer than expected, he may not return until the following match against Atalanta on the 29th of this month, which will be Barcelona’s final group-stage fixture in the Champions League.
