Liverpool’s squad could undergo significant changes next season, with several key players, including Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, facing uncertain futures as they approach the final year of their contracts. Alexander-Arnold, in particular, has been strongly linked to a potential transfer to Real Madrid.
Another possible departure is Luis Diaz, who could even end up facing Alexander-Arnold in La Liga next season. According to Antena 2 in Colombia (via SPORT), Barcelona has informed Liverpool of their plans to pursue Diaz at the end of the current season.
Barcelona has long been interested in signing a new left-winger, with Diaz having been on their radar even before his move to Liverpool. The club reportedly considered signing him last summer but ultimately decided against the move.
Now, Barcelona has reignited their interest and is reportedly planning to make a €70 million bid for the Colombian international during the summer transfer window. Barcelona president Joan Laporta is a known admirer of Diaz and is keen to bring him to the Camp Nou.
Diaz has been a crucial player for Liverpool this season, contributing 12 goals and three assists in 27 appearances across the Premier League and Champions League.
However, with no new contract signed and his long-term future uncertain, Liverpool may struggle to keep him at Anfield despite his current deal running until 2027.
Meanwhile, Darwin Núñez has also been linked with a potential move to Manchester United, adding to the speculation surrounding Liverpool’s squad changes.
