Historic swap deal between Barcelona and Juventus because of De Jong

Reports have surfaced about Juventus’ interest in signing Barcelona’s Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong, and the player may be open to a move, having shown a desire to join the Italian club. Barcelona has made a contract renewal offer to de Jong, asking him to reduce his salary in light of the club’s financial struggles, but he has yet to respond.

Juventus is in need of a creative midfielder to support their attacking options, and de Jong is at the top of their wish list. The club is in contact with the midfielder’s agents, and negotiations are reportedly progressing well. Juventus is preparing to engage Barcelona in talks over a potential transfer.

De Jong’s contract with Barcelona runs until the summer of 2026, but no extension has been agreed upon yet. According to “Sky Sport,” Juventus’ interest in de Jong is serious, and discussions are underway, leading Barcelona to consider selling him sooner rather than later.

In addition, Italian outlet “La Gazzetta” reports that Juventus might offer striker Dusan Vlahovic as part of the deal. Vlahovic, who has reportedly declined to extend his contract, is set to become a free agent next season, and Juventus hopes to secure some financial return rather than losing him for nothing.
