Barcelona dominated Valencia 7-1 in the 21st round of La Liga, showcasing their impressive form with an outstanding team performance. This commanding victory pushed Barcelona’s points total to 42, keeping them in third place, three points behind Atlético Madrid in second, and seven points adrift of leaders Real Madrid.
According to El Nacional, German coach Hansi Flick was delighted with the resounding win, praising Barcelona’s standout player, Fermin Lopez, who played a key role in the victory by scoring twice and assisting on two other goals. Flick commended Lopez’s performance, telling him, “You delivered a top-class football performance; with this level of play, you won’t be out of the starting lineup in the coming period.”
Flick also lauded Pau Coparsi for his excellent performance at the back, describing the Spanish defender as “the most complete defender in the world right now.” Additionally, Flick expressed his admiration for Eric Garcia, emphasizing the Spanish defender’s ability to accurately pass the ball from the back and progress it smoothly into midfield. He plans to offer Garcia more playing time in future matches.
However, despite the dominant win, Flick was notably frustrated by Ferran Torres’ missed opportunities in front of goal. As a result, Flick intends to exclude Torres from Barcelona’s starting lineup for the rest of the season and give Pau Victor a chance to play more frequently.
After the match, Barcelona president Joan Laporta made his way to the locker room to personally congratulate Fermin Lopez, telling him, “What a player you are! What joy you brought to the world in tonight’s match. Your removal from the starting lineup is now impossible.”
