British press reports have confirmed that Real Madrid is looking to make an exchange deal with Chelsea during the current winter transfer window.
Currently leading La Liga with 49 points, Real Madrid holds a 7-point advantage over Barcelona, which sits in third place. Under coach Carlo Ancelotti, the team is also preparing for a crucial match against French side Brest to secure qualification for the next stage of the Champions League.
According to the Daily Mail, Real Madrid is aiming to sign Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez in a swap deal involving Aurelien Tchouameni moving to the Blues. The report also stated that Ancelotti believes Fernandez, a key player under Chelsea’s coach Enzo Maresca, could boost the team’s chances in both the Champions League and La Liga.
The deal, as outlined, would not involve any financial exchange between the clubs. Tchouameni, 24, has faced criticism and booing from Real Madrid fans for his performances this season, with Ancelotti having used him as a centre-back due to defensive shortages.
