Hansi Flick admits his huge mistake in letting go of Barcelona’s talented player in the summer and decides to return him immediately

Hansi Flick has openly acknowledged his mistakes, admitting that some decisions made during the summer are now being rethought. While Barcelona’s results have been impressive so far, the German coach still sees areas for improvement.

According to Sport, Flick has recognized that letting go of a player who could have been valuable at this point was a mistake. The player in question is Alex Valle, who performed exceptionally well during pre-season and impressed in the friendly matches. Valle was expected to stay with the team but was instead loaned out to another club.

The report explains that Flick couldn’t guarantee Valle a regular starting spot in the first team, so he opted to keep Gerard Martin and allowed the young Spanish player, who had multiple offers, to move on loan.

In the competitive Scottish Premier League, Valle has had regular playing time and even featured in the Champions League—something he had yet to experience with Barcelona. After a brief adaptation period, Valle has become an essential part of the Celtic squad, with his performances catching the attention of Barcelona. His continued progress has impressed the club, and there is growing belief in his potential.

Flick believes Valle possesses the perfect physical and technical attributes to play for Barcelona and could be an ideal replacement for Alejandro Balde. As a result, Flick plans to bring Valle back in 2025, after his loan spell in Scotland ends.

Initially, Joan Laporta and Deco were considering signing a new left-back, but after recent developments, they have decided to change their strategy. Instead of bringing in a new player, they now plan to place their trust in Valle, who will return to Barcelona in 2025.
