Barcelona is reportedly focusing on strengthening their right-back position ahead of next summer. According to SPORT, the club, led by sporting director Deco and coach Hansi Flick, has made this position a priority, alongside the previously identified needs for a left winger and a center-back.
The push for a new right-back follows in-depth discussions between Deco and Flick, with the German coach stressing the importance of reinforcing this area to enhance the team’s future. As a result, the right-back role has become a more immediate concern than the previously considered left-back position.
Barcelona is still in the early stages of identifying potential right-back candidates. They are gathering information and holding internal talks, but no contact with agents or formal lists of candidates have been established yet.
The club’s ability to make any signings will depend on their success in player sales. Barcelona must adhere to the 1:1 rule, meaning they need to generate income from sales to fund new acquisitions.
